Field determination for an open spherical resonator
Abstract
The characteristics of a spherical open resonator were theoretically and experimentally studied. The field configuration along the resonator axis was explored using a disturbing sphere and the frequency shift, loss per passage, and damping were measured. These curves were compared with the theoretically determined field configuration, and good agreement was found.
