On a boundary value problem for a magnetofluiddynamic boundary layer
Abstract
Group analysis is used to show that the magnetofluiddynamic boundary layer flow over a semiinfinite flat plate can be described in terms of the solution of a boundary value problem for a third order nonlinear ordinary differential equation. The existence of similarity solutions is demonstrated for the case when the outer flow velocity and the suction or injection velocity vary according to exponential laws. The boundary value problem is shown to possess a unique solution.
