The HILAT satellite multifrequency radio beacon
Abstract
The HILAT beacon, L-band/UHF antenna, and ground receiver system allow efficient phase scintillation measurements to be made. The L-band signal also accepts bi-phase modulated telemetry data from the other scientific instruments by means of the Science Data Formatter. Thus, the L-band signal serves the dual functions of telemetry channel and phase reference for the scintillation measurements.
