Numerical computations of isothermal turbulent flows in a combustor with an axisymmetric bluff body
Abstract
Isothermal turbulent flows in a combustor with an axisymmetric bluff body have been computed by the well-known method of vorticity-stream function and the k-epsilon model of turbulence. The effect of the interaction of two coaxial turbulent jets on the flow patterns of such combustors has been studied. Numerical results reveal some interesting phenomena. The agreement between the predicted flow patterns and the measured flow patterns available is good.
