A pseudo-spectral method and parametric differentiation applied to the Falkner-Skan equation
Abstract
The Falkner-Skan equation, which is the similarity form of the boundary layer equations, has been solved through the use of pseudo-spectral methods for different values of the similarity parameter β. The equation was then parametrically differentiated with respect to β and the resulting equation was solved with pseudo-spectral methods. A convergence criteria is established for each method. Comparisons are made between both approaches and the classical solutions.
