Comet rendezvous.
Abstract
The first sustained visit to a comet will begin in 1994 when a spacecraft will rendezvous with the Comet Kopff. Arriving near aphelion, a variety of instruments will be able to study the comet nucleus close up in its quiescent state. They will then record the changes as the comet heats up on its approach to the Sun, forms a coma and tail, and passes through perihelion.
