Delta Launcher Add-On Payloads
Abstract
Attention is given to six experimental payloads which have over the years been mounted on as many Delta rocket flights' upper stages, taking advantage of the Delta launch vehicles' excess payload capacity. These payloads were the Thor-Agena Vibration Experiment of 1962, the package Attitude Control payload of 1969, the Cylindrical Electrostatic Probe Experiment of 1971, the Plasma Interaction Experiment of 1978, the Chemically Active Materials Ejected in Orbit experiment of 1978, and the Delta Redundant Inertial Measurement System package of 1979.
