A study of the hydrodynamics and disperse structure of the spray jet of a nozzle using methods of laser diagnostics
Abstract
The methodological aspects of the use of laser-based optical visualization techniques for studying the dynamic characteristics and the disperse structure of the spray jet of a liquid centrifugal injection nozzle are examined. A nucleus of reverse flows has been detected and its parameters determined as a function of the nozzle injection parameters. Measurements have also been made of the velocity field and of the size of the discrete phase in the spray jet. It is shown that secondary droplets are formed in the initial section of the jet and that the introduction of a disperse solid into the jet significantly changes the flow hydrodynamics.
