Estimation of time arrival for rectangular pulses
Abstract
The performance of the maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) for the time of arrival of a rectangular pulse in additive white Gaussian noise is considered. Upper and lower bounds are derived for the mean square error. These bounds are tight for both medium and large energy-to-noise ratios.
