Analytic description of a homogeneously broadened injection laser
Abstract
The steady-state spectral output of a multimode homogeneously broadened laser is investigated analytically, modeling the laser as a Fabry-Perot resonator containing an amplifying medium. The single-pass intensity gain is found to increase exponentially with pumping until threshold is reached and to saturate thereafter. Numerical results for a GaAs diode laser are presented graphically and shown to be in good agreement with experimental data.
