The single-model bandwidth in a rectangular dielectric image waveguide
Abstract
The single mode bandwidth of a rectangular dielectric image waveguide is analyzed on the basis of eigenvalue equations, yielding values for the lowest relevant mode, the first-order mode, and the normalized guide height. The effective dielectric constant method of Knox and Toulios (1970) is used in order to circumvent the deficiencies of the Marcatili (1969) method.
