Heat and mass transfer in viscous swirled jets
Abstract
Within the framework of the Loitsyansky theory for the problem of the development of submerged swirled jets, the distribution of excess temperatures in swirled jets has been obtained by the method of asymptotic expansions. The second and third terms of the excess temperature expansion have been found taking account of the effect of jet swirling intensity over a wide range of Prandtl numbers (Pr not equal to 1). The results of experimental investigations of the velocity, pressure and concentration fields of a gas admixture in turbulent swirled jets of air are given which are compared with the prediction.
