Terminal fold-belt deformation: Relationship of mid-Carboniferous megakinks in the Tasman fold belt to coeval thrusts in cratonic Australia
Abstract
Megakinks in the meridional tectonic grain of the Tasman fold belt were formed by north-south compression in the mid-Carboniferous and appear to be related to the same stress system that formed intracratonic thrusts in central Australia during the Alice Springs orogeny.
