The question of the statistical description of fragments of the surface of Mercury

The application of statistical methods to a description of photographic fragments of the cratered relief of the surface of Mercury is considered. On the basis of some selected formal criteria for cratered relief on Mercury, a chief components matrix method is used to construct a matrix of correlations of relief criteria. Several conclusions are offered concerning the morphological aspects of the divided sections of the surface of the planet.
