Assessment of effective noise according to sound level
Abstract
The present study presents (in a framework of research on the biological effects of noise) a number of objective frequency characteristics of noises assessed as equal in terms of sound level (in dB A). The noise frequency characteristic is uniquely defined by the specification of the sound level and the frequency dependence of spectral-component levels. As an example, attention is given to a simple dependence: the uniform rise or drop of the sound-pressure level in octave frequency bands on + or - Delta-L dB/octave; frequencies ranged from 63 to 8000 Hz.
