Similarity solution of turbulent free jet
Abstract
Best-fit constants for a similarity solution of a turbulent free jet are obtained. The 1972 study by Johnes and Launder for boundary layer flow is extended to plane jet and round jet flows. Calculated profiles are in good agreement with experimental data. It is believed that two of the four 'model constants' used are not universal constants but instead are some functions of turbulence.
