Flow in a shock tube in the presence of suspended particles
Abstract
A study is made of the gas dynamics of unsteady wave flow in a shock tube in which the low-pressure chamber is partially or completely filled with small suspended particles of an inert solid phase. Particular flow schemes are discussed. Characteristic z-t plots are presented for the cases of partial and complete filling of the low-pressure chamber with solid particles.
