Superstring Field Theory
Abstract
Lightconegauge string field theory, developed for bosonic strings in Chapter 10, has been extended to superstrings. A number of new features arise. First of all, the fields themselves are functionals of superspace coordinates x(σ) and θ(σ). Therefore, the coordinate matching that takes place in a string interaction to represent the fact that a final string is coincident with the initial strings that join to make it (or vice versa) must be implemented for the Grassmann coordinates as well as the spacetime ones. This gives superspace a deeper geometric significance than in pointparticle theories, where the θ's encode essentially algebraic information…
