Groove-guide directional couplers with improved bandwidth
Abstract
An exact theory for the calculation of the coupling properties of uniformly coupled groove guides with unequal phase constants has been developed and is found to agree well with measurements. The results have been applied to the construction of directional couplers with the advantage of considerably improved bandwidth while preserving the good performance data of symmetrical couplers. Scattering coefficients are shown for Ka-band and E-band directional couplers.
