Eigenvalues of TE(11)- and TM(11)-modes in conical horn antennas
Abstract
Simple formulas are given for the eigenvalues of the TE(11) and TM(11) modes in conical waveguides as a function of the horn flare angle. Their accuracy is noted to be better than 1 percent between 1 and 62 deg for the TE(11) mode, while for the TM(11) mode the corresponding figure is 0.4 percent between 1 and 90 deg.
