The diffraction of electromagnetic waves by a grating consisting of oblique ribbons
Abstract
A rigorous solution is presented to the problem concerning the diffraction of an electromagnetic wave by a grating consisting of infinitely thin, ideally conducting ribbons. The solution is obtained by using the spectral approach and inverting the static component of the operator in the single-ribbon diffraction problem. Dispersion characteristics of the transmission coefficient are calculated for gratings with different ribbon-to-grating angles which may be of practical interest.
