A method for the theoretical calculation of the profile of the free surface of a liquid in an undeveloped vortex funnel
Abstract
Free-surface profiles have been obtained for the case of plane axisymmetrical rotation of a viscous fluid over a round hole. A method is proposed for determining the relative decrease of the free-surface level at the axis of rotation in an undeveloped vortex funnel. The effect of the radial Reynolds number on the profile of the air core of the vortex funnel is examined.
