Stability of Taylor vortices
Abstract
A numerical algorithm is developed for solving the spectral problem involving the stability of Taylor vortices arising in the case of the motion of a viscous incompressible fluid between two rotating coaxial cylinders. The results can be used to determine dimensionless parameters for an experiment consisting in the laser measurement of local velocity for flow between rotating cylinders.
