Certain self-similar solutions for a class of hydrodynamic equations with sign-variable viscosity
Abstract
The paper presents results concerning the construction and stability analysis of self-similar solutions to an equation with a sign-variable viscosity coefficient. An analysis is made of the structure and stability of the set of shock-transition-type solutions for a one-dimensional nonlinear equation; a numerical solution is obtained for the interaction of the shock transition with an oscillating background. Also presented are results pertaining to the existence of layer-type self-similar solutions to the two-dimensional analog of the aformentioned one-dimensional equation.
