Origin of impact bombs from the Ilinetsk astrobleme.
Abstract
The chemical composition of the target rocks, impactites, and bombs of the Il'inetskaia astrobleme is analyzed. It is shown that the selective potassium enrichment of the glassy bombs of this astrobleme can be explained by their formation as the result of the condensation of high-temperature silicate vapor on the surface of fragments dispersed in the impact cloud. High postimpact temperatures of the fragments facilitated vapor condensation on their surface.
