Maximum accuracy regions in measuring weak lidar signals in the photon-counting mode
Abstract
The operation of a system that records weak lidar signal in the photon-counting mode is analyzed, with allowance made for the influence of inertial effects on the accuracy of the measurements. The measurement accuracy is found to be a maximum over certain ranges of signal energies. The application of the results obtained to laser sounding is discussed.
