Damped oscillations modeled by a 3-dimensional time dependent differential system
Abstract
A technique based on the Krylov-Bogoliubov-Mitropolskii asymptotic method is developed for the investigation of a weakly nonlinear mechanical system with strong damping. An application is made to an elastic system with internal friction and relaxation under the action of a harmonic force. The resonance curve is sketched and the stability of the stationary regime of oscillations is examined.
