A complementary MOS-lightcoupled multiplexer
Abstract
A complementary MOS-lightcoupled multiplexer is presented in which complementary MOS analog gates drawn out from the substrate with a wire are used as switch components. The control components are lightcoupled devices drawn out from two ends with wires. The isolate-shielded performance of the multiplexer is satisfactory. The multiplexer is capable of three-line sampling and application in spots with strong interference. The influence of grid leakage currents and peak interference can be eliminated. It can handle low-level signals, since its noise level is about + or -1 micro-v. Over a wide measurement range, its ON-resistance is low and only 10 to 30 ohms when the input level is between +3 and -3 volts. Its turn-on time is measured in microseconds. It can be driven by a TTL-integrated gate, with simple integration.
