Planned search for K+→π++``nothing'' at the Brookhaven AGS
Abstract
An experiment recently proposed by a BNL-CMU-Columbia-Princeton-TRIUMF collaboration to search for the rare kaon decay mode K+→π+X°X̄° where X° is a light, neutral, non-interacting particle(s) is described. It is estimated that the existing experimental upper limit2 for this process of B.R.<1.4×10-7 (90% C.L.) can be reduced by nearly three orders of magnitude to 2×10-10.
