Weather and climate responses to solar variations; Proceedings of the Second International Symposium on Solar-Terrestrial Influences on Weather and Climate, Boulder, CO, August 2-6, 1982
Abstract
The reports presented in this volume summarize the progress made in understanding the influence of solar variability on weather and climate. The topics discussed include variations in the solar radiation input; modification of the stratospheric ozone profile after acute solar events; changes in atmospheric chemistry related to solar flux variations; and the solar cycle effect on atmospheric carbon dioxide levels. Papers are also presented on solar oscillations, sunspot cycles, and climatic change; the response of the earth's global electrical circuit to a solar proton event; and the evidence for cycles on solar time scales in climate data.
