Resonance effects at the boundary of two inhomogeneous dielectric half-spaces
Abstract
The paper examines the contact between two dielectric half-spaces, where the permittivity in each of them goes to zero at the interface (z = 0) according to a power law (z exp n). The order of the resonance point is determined by an arbitrary positive number n and is different for the two half-spaces. The behavior of the electromagnetic field of TM polarization near the z = 0 point is clarified with the aid of an analytically fulfilled limiting transition from the case of media with losses. It is shown that resonance absorption occurs only in the case of the contact of linear layers without discontinuity of the tangent. The occurrence of resonance screening is also considered.
