Microwave reflection measurements of the dielectric properties of concrete
Abstract
The use of microwave reflection measurements to continuously and nondestructively monitor the hydration of concrete is described. The method relies upon the influence of the free water content on the dielectric properties of the concrete. Use of the method on concrete blocks showed linear relations between the compressive strength, water cement ratio, and block thickness with the dielectric properties. Some of the method are discussed.
