Natural inflation
Abstract
A first attempt at finding a theory which leads to an inflationary universe scenario without fine-tuning of parameters is outlined. The discussed models have inflation occurring in the evolving stable phase for a wide and natural choice of all parameters. The implications of the results for understanding of the fluctuations necessary for galaxy formation, the initial cosmological singularity, and the very large-scale structure of the universe are briefly discussed.
