Prediction of density and constant pressure specific heat for several fluids in the near-critical region
Abstract
The objective of this work was to develop general, simple, and accurate expressions to predict the behavior of density and constant pressure specific heat in the near-critical region. Expressions were determined for (1) variation with temperature at constant pressure of density for methane, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, oxygen, water, para-hydrogen, and ammonia, and for (2) variation with temperature of constant pressure specific heat for methane, carbon dioxide, and water. The predicted results based on the developed expressions showed an excellent agreement with the available experimental P-v-T data and a very good agreement with the available experimental specific heat data.
