Hybrid fast Poisson solvers for fluid dynamics
Abstract
For the numerical simulation of fluid flow problems in essentially arbitrary and irregular geometries, with general boundary conditions, a combination of fast direct methods and boundary integral panel techniques is employed. Applications include viscous incompressible Navier-Stokes flow in general interior domains, transonic potential flow about complex configurations, and projection of an arbitrary vector field onto its solenoidal component.
