Feeds for earth-station and spacecraft antennas
Abstract
The paper begins with an examination of the focal-region fields of reflector antennas, since this affords insight into the choice of an optimum feed (determined to be the hybrid feed). Attention is then given to the propagation and radiation characteristics of corrugated waveguides and corrugated conical horns. Excitation and mode conversion, multimode corrugated feeds, the radiation characteristics of pure mode feeds, array feeds, and surface-wave feeds are also covered.
