How aerospace ISO standards will impact new designs - SC-1 electrical requirements

The activity of the subcommittee on aerospace elelctrical requirements (SC-1) of the ISO committee on aircraft and space vehicles (TC-20) and of the U.S. subcommittee advisory group (SCAG-1) is reviewed. The constitution of TC-20 and SC-1 is explained, a table listing current SC-1 members is given, and the role of SCAG-1 as a liaison between SC-1 and various technical organizations in the U.S. is examined, with discussion of the techniques used to form a consensus. The meetings, participation, mandate, work program, impediments to action, and implementation chronology of SC-1 are characterized. A block diagram of SCAG-1 liaison functions, a table of organizational acronyms, an excerpt of the TC-20 charge to SC-1, and the agenda of a typical SC-1 meeting are included in appendices.
