Radar modelling
Abstract
The UK facility for scale modelling of radar systems has been developed by THORN EMI Electronics Limited on behalf of the MoD and the Royal Signals and Radar Establishment and is used to obtain detailed and precise data on the radar scattering characteristics of targets. It incorporates a wide variety of model targets and of model radars for investigating them, together with the choice of several methods of varying and controlling the relative orientation and position of scale radar and target. These practical aspects are complemented by a theoretical team with computing aids. The facility is continually being developed, and many of the recent extensions have been aimed specifically at increasing the versatility for investigating inverse processing methods.
