A sub-optimal filter for a track-while-scan radar
Abstract
This paper describes a suboptimal tracking filter, which can be applied on a track-while-scan airborne radar. The principle of the filter consists in taking into account independently the characteristics of the target and those of each primary measurement made by the radar. The filter is derived from the linearized optimal filter and leads to an important reduction of memory and computational load with a low degradation of performances.
