Optimised adaptive threshold moving platform MTI for shipborne surveillance radars
Abstract
This paper describes a digital MTI for shipborne surveillance Radars, to get over problems like detection of low flying aircrafts submerged in strong sea clutter and the technique adopted to cancel the effect of moving platform on clutter signals. Generation of Adaptive Threshold on cell Averaging CFAR principle has also been discussed. The clutter suppression and aircraft detection performance of this MTI have been illustrated by means of PPI photographs and evaluation trials report.
