A new approach to plot extraction and track generation

This paper presents a new approach to plot extraction and track generation. A modified distribution free CFAR gives improved performance in clutter/chaff edges and multitarget situations. The paper discusses implementation aspects of a new scan to scan correlation algorithm which jointly optimizes detection and tracking. The apriori information provided by the track updatement filter is used to improve detection. Decision features like Rank are also used in plot to track correlation process. This facilitates tracking weak maneuvering targets in clutter. A new solution to the combinatorial problems in multi target tracking is also obtained by which the 'N' best hypothesis can be located by simple search method.
