Synthesis of planar arrays with low sidelobes
Abstract
This paper provides a comparative study of three synthesis techniques for planar arrays with emphasis on low-side-lobe designs. The three techniques considered are: separable illumination transformation of linear array, and convolution synthesis using canonical arrays. Examples of a 5-ring, 121-element square-array and a 5-ring, 91-element hexagonal-array synthesis are presented.
