Plasma focus research in China
Abstract
Research on plasma focus engineering problems (spark gaps and transmission cables) and on plasma focus phenomena is summarized. Silicon rubber was used on both ends of the transmission cable to reduce the length of insulation. Spark gap characteristics were improved by changing electrode dimensions. Emission of X-rays was studied on a 99 F, 25 kV device, filled with H2 at 2 to 8 Torr. Early phases of discharge development were studied. Plasma-metal interactions were investigated.
