The guaranteed-value approach in applying the least squares method to nonlinear space navigation problems
Abstract
Conditions are determined for which the dependence of the estimation error on the measurement error is a continuous and differentiable function. In such a case, the bounds on the estimation errors can be determined with a specified confidence level. The statistical properties of the least squares functional are investigated, and the region containing the estimate is determined on the basis of the results obtained. Conditions are formulated for which this estimate is a global minimum with a specified a priori probability.
