The prediction of turbulent heat transfer by the finite element method
Abstract
This chapter describes how the finite element method can be used to analyze problems of turbulent heat transfer. Forced convection type flows are considered in which the momentum equations are assumed to be independent of temperature. Results are presented for the heat transfer accompanying the recirculating flow over a backward facing step and the flow within the central subchannel of a triangular rod bundle.
