Project for improved performance of radiometric standard detectors (110-360 nm)
Abstract
The Far Ultraviolet Physic Group of the Radiation Physics Division at NBS was issuing transfer standard photodiode detectors for the far UV for over a decade. It has recently become apparent that the photodiodes intended for use in the 1164-2437A spectral region, while having proven generally satisfactory, could likely be improved with certain changes in design. A group of photodiodes incorporating such design changes were obtained and the resulting performance was studied. Three areas were selected for redesign: Window seal; Photocathode location; and Photoelectron collection efficiency.
