A new technique for the measurement of the frequency of a microwave pulse using sub-Nyquist sampling
Abstract
A sub-Nyquist sampling technique is proposed which makes it possible to determine the frequency of a microwave pulse using three samplers, each driven with an impulse train at a frequency much below that of the microwave frequency. The accuracy of frequency measurements is determined by the pulse length and is equal to its reciprocal. The technique is potentially cheap since, in contrast to other methods, it uses few microwave components.
