Structures for large precision reflectors
Abstract
The design and fabrication of a highly accurate large aperture infrared reflecting telescope is discussed. The structural concept is an off axis Cassegrainian design with a focal length equal to the aperture diameter. Thermal shielding, peak heat fluxes, cooling rates, active control tasks, and deployment sequence are discussed.
