Microprocessor based antenna control unit meets a wide variety of applications
Abstract
The design features and software for the ACU-6 antenna control unit are outlined. ACU-6 is a 30 lb rack-mounted system which provides control of the antenna, pedestal and receivers in manual and automatic modes. Changing interface requirements are met by exchanging up to eight printed circuit cards. Software modules provide capabilities of position loop closure, intelligent mode interactions and signal strength functions, fault tolerance and computations for leveling, tracking and correction. The system also has self-test, self-calibration and field programming capabilities.
