Integration of TV-SAT into the broadcasting network

The implications of television satellites for television networks are discussed. Technical aspects of satellite broadcasting are reviewed, and the complementary, rather than replacement, role of satellites in the West German broadcasting network is emphasized. The incorporation of satellites into a cable television network is addressed, and the planned integration of satellites into the West German television broadcasting is discussed. Finally, the potential role of distribution satellites in television networks is addressed.
